By increasing our recycling capabilities this way it helps us to contribute further to creating a circular economy, as it will reduce the need for virgin plastics.  As from April 2022 a new plastic packaging tax will be introduced for material imported into the UK that does not contain at least 30% recycled plastic, the penalty for this will be £200 per tonne, the same rule also applies for UK Manufacturers using packaging that does not meet this criteria. The tax aims to encourage the use of recycled plastic, and it will act as an incentive for businesses to change their plastic production processes from the use of Virgin Pellet to Recycled Pellet whilst also reducing our customer’s carbon footprint.
